Our final away day of the year was combined with festive celebrations. Stopford Colleagues enjoyed a bracing wintery walk along the Dee Estuary, part of the Wirral way, commencing at Park Gate with a destination of Sheldrakes in Heswall for a well-earned Christmas lunch.
We enjoyed a delicious meal whilst observing the spectacular views across the Dee Estuary and the Welsh mountains. Alongside the festivities, we were pleased to recognise the recent academic and professional achievements of our colleagues:
- Sarah Duchene, Financial Accountant, past her finals and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CI).
- Dan Brady, Mechanical Project Engineer, received his Masters (whom Stopford are delighted to have sponsored) with a distinction in Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc(Eng) with an award-winning research project titled ‘Concept Design for Air Energy Storage System for Vehicular Use’.
Special congratulations to Mercedes Martin, Senior Process Engineer, a Stopford employee for twenty years and one of our original process engineers. Mercedes has been the backbone of the process department, growing her own capabilities and specialising in pressure relief and fire risk assessments. Mercedes is a great asset to the company and we look forward to her continued career at Stopford for many years to come.
The day culminated with a toast by all to Stopford’s success, reflecting on our 2017 achievements both as a business and individuals. A fantastic year, that has seen us provide continued support to our clients on varied projects, form many new partnerships and develop our client base. We are full steam ahead for a very exciting 2018.
