We recently attended the ADBA R&D forum with our project partners, Lancaster University, to keep up to date with the industry R&D, and to present about our joint project (See Lois’ presentation here). Our earlier work on using ashes from biomass energy conversion as a fertiliser material for agriculture has brought about further funding for the research with Prof. Kirk Semple et al. at the Lancaster Environment Centre. With ash arisings in the UK only set to increase with the growing bio-energy sector, and digestate continuing to present problems for AD operators, the project gained some interest at the event.
