Training
Stopford can offer bespoke Process Safety Training packages. Previously Stopford has delivered the following tailored training courses for a variety of clients:
- Conducting Hazardous Area Classification
- Understanding DSEAR/ATEX
- Carrying out LOPA/SIL assessments
- Dust Explosion Hazards
- Pressure relief studies
Stopford has the knowledge and expertise to be able to assemble individual bespoke training packages. The training delivered may specifically be targeted at engineers but may also be aimed at operational staff. The purpose of the training courses is to provide relevant information in order for our clients to gain a better understanding of the process hazards and ensure they have the appropriate knowledge required to reduce the risks associated with these hazards.
Energy from Waste

Stopford, in collaboration with Lancaster University, have developed a training course in Energy from Waste. The course is delivered in three intensive modules, providintg the students the opportunity to work towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Energy & Fuels from Waste. The course draws on the experiences of leading figures in academia and industry, and includes a number of site visits throughout the NW of England. The aim of the course is to provide students with a thorough grounding in the energy from waste sector – the course’s themes include project financing, incentives, planning, legislation, PFIs, technologies (thermal, advanced thermal, non-thermal & emerging), post-combustion products, feedstocks, liquid fuel generation, project management and environmental management.
