Research and Development
Stopford has developed a strong alliance with Lancaster University bringing together broad industrial expertise and skills with academic excellence. Stopford is now an Associate Company of Lancaster Environment Centre giving our staff access to the world class research and development facilitates on the campus. Stopford is currently engaged in a broad range of environmental projects ranging from fundamental research and development to detailed consultancy. As well as developing novel environmental technologies in-house, the Stopford R&D team is also working closely with clients to assist them in the development and validation of new technologies in the areas of waste treatment and commodity recovery. The R&D team, based at Lancaster, offers clients a flexible but holistic service for the development and commercialisation of novel environmental technologies including:

Studentships
Stopford is currently sponsoring and co-supervising an EPSRC Industrial CASE Studentship in partnership with the Centre for Chemicals Management at Lancaster Environment Centre. The four year project is focused on researching “Plasma Gasification in the UK and Opportunities for Second Generation Biofuel Production”. Stopford also co-supervises a number of commercially focused post graduate research projects.
