Stopford has developed significant expertise in renewable energy generation projects. Our capabilities span from initial project feasibility right through to technology commissioning. Our multidisciplinary project teams comprising of environmental scientists, chemists, energy consultants, project managers and engineers allow for a flexible approach to project development, whereby specialist consultancy services can be delivered throughout the lifecycle of renewable energy schemes.

Areas of specialism are detailed below:

Stopford are involved in projects ranging from small scale 200 kW anaerobic digestion facilities right through to 40 MW gasification schemes. As such Stopford’s integrated approach to renewable energy generation schemes allows us to bring value to our clients at any stage of a project across a number of technologies.

Stopford are currently involved in a number of renewable energy projects including an EPCCM contract for a 40 MW plasma gasification plant, the development of five biomass to energy schemes across the UK (totalling circa 50 MW), and R&D in partnership with some of the UK’s leading Universities into novel gasification technologies.
Also, as recognised experts in the energy from waste sector Lancaster University commissioned Stopford to develop a Post Graduate Certificate training course in Energy & Fuels from Waste.
