Oil storage
A global oil company asked Stopford to review the containment requirements for their oil drum storage facility. The facility, which is used for fuel blending research and development activities, is unusual in storing oil in many hundreds of drums, as opposed to a smaller number of large tanks. A review of the current containment provisions was conducted which informed a risk assessment for the site. The facility was also evaluated for compliance with the Oil Storage Regulations (2001), and recommendations were developed for ensuring that the identified risks were mitigated and that the site was brought into line with these regulations.
