Bioethanol Projects

Stopford  are currently carrying out major works at  a number of sites to facilitate the handling, storage and blending of Ethanol fuel. The projects have been initiated as a result of the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Programme. The programme has placed an obligation on fuel suppliers to ensure that a certain percentage of their aggregate sales is made up of biofuels. The effect of this will be to require 5% of all UK fuel sold on UK forecourts to come from a renewable source by 2010. This will help meet climate change objectives as well as contributing to other Government objectives, including security of energy supply. The work for our clients includes Consultancy, multi – discipline design, specifications and the management of changes required to implement the Bio-fuel conversions. For clients, Stopford are also providing Construction Supervision for all sites and are engaged as CDM Principal Contractor.
