Early Phase Development Facility

Stopford undertook the construction of a highly flexible new pilot plant for a leading biotechnology company. The pilot plant was designed for fast changeovers between products, assets included a three stream pilot plant of 400-1,600 litre capacity, 2 kilo scale laboratories, each with pairs of 50-75 litre reactors, laboratories and other facilities for 23 chemists and support staff. Commissioning was in two phases during H1 2002. The development met the client’s strategy to increase its portfolio for pharmaceutical process intervention, development and fast-track manufacturing services.
