Post Title: Piping Designer
DEPARTMENT: Piping Department
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparation and modification of piping drawings using AutoCad 2D and 3D, and Bentley Autoplant 3D.
- A strong knowledge of other disciplines is necessary to ensure that the design interfaces with other departments are managed effectively, including process, mechanical, and electrical. Knowledge of the external reference drawing system (x-refs) in AutoCad..
- Perform occasional field activities such as surveys of existing piping and process equipment.– this could include climbing of stairs and ladders Knowledge of safe site working
- Development of piping and pipe support material, fabrication and installation specifications.
- Development of piping designs through all design stages: conceptual, preliminary, detailed engineering, construction.
- Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills for dealing directly with our clients representatives
- Ensure all work within his scope of responsibility is completed in accordance with the accepted project plan and within the work hour budget allocated.
- Ensure all client documentation is reviewed for acceptability and updated as agreed by the Client and Project Management.
- Ensure timely completion of all project specifications, designs, drawings and requisitioning.
- Ensure all documentation within the scope of his responsibility is prepared, checked, reviewed and approved in accordance with the company’s and clients Quality Systems.
- Where it is a requirement of the job for the job holder to use computers or other information technology, he/she will be required to ensure that security procedures are followed as appropriate and that confidential information for example, passwords, are not communicated to unauthorised individuals.
