Post Title: Graduate Civil & Structural Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Civil & Structural
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide comprehensive design and technical support to the Civil & Structural Team. The post holder requires excellent organisational skills, must be flexible and able to consistently demonstrate a high professional approach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within a multi-disciplinary design team to produce civil and structural designs meeting the requirement for economy, safety and serviceability.
- Prepare initial concept designs for discussion and development with the Client.
- Play an active role in design development through to completion.
- Carry out analysis and detailed engineering design of the structure using a variety of computer applications.
- Prepare drawings and contract documents for construction.
- Liaise with the construction team to resolve site issues and contract variations.
- Assist in the delivery of projects to meet timescales, budget and quality requirements.
- Undertake inspections and condition surveys of a variety of structures and produce technical reports.
- Where it is a requirement of the job for the job holder to use computers or other information technology, he/she will be required to ensure that security procedures are followed as appropriate and that confidential information for example, passwords, are not communicated to unauthorised individuals.
